I have been browsing around universal-radio.com and saw these:

Icom IC-91A http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/0091.html

Icom P7A http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/ht/1177.html

Both of these are cool looking. I would love to pick up the IC-91A just for receiving! I am not a HAM but the 91A makes me want to be, lol. I just love the looks and the design. I wish it had 7.5 steps though for narrowband that is used around here. Maybe it will once it is released, but I doubt it.

The 91A is just too cool with 30 seconds of audio record. True dual receive and more.

I would love to get one....I wonder what the price of the 91A is going to be. The Icom P7A is $240 with a lot less features. I bet the 91A is pushing $400 or better.

the amateur test for a technician license is easy. 35 questions of multiple choice.
No morse code necessary. It is worth taking the test. Answer 35 questions (with 70% correct) and you can transmit on VHF-UHF. And many ham HT's make excellent scanners.
(My favorite is the Kenwood THF6A) Good Luck.

PS the T91A looks sweet.

The only problem is the radios appear to be low power and will probably have intermod problems. The T90 for example does the same things and it has intermode like crazy.
