Icom: ID-5100 GPS not working anymore

Has anyone had this issue and if so, how did you fix it?

My radio head has been in the same spot for 2 years and has always been able to acquire GPS lock. All of a sudden it can’t anymore.

I've had a day or two where mine didn't seem to want to lock. I moved it a few inches either way, turned the radio off and on, and then it always came back. Other than that, no clue.

It depends on the location. Had it under the top shelf of my desk. Moved a few inches from under it and it works. must have a clear view above it.

It had been working in its current location since may of last year (when it got installed in my current vehicle). Maybe the sun got to it from it being at the windshield.

Update: it just randomly started working again. Weird.
