I picked up an ID-52 but can't seem to receive anything.

Even FM radio isn't coming in. The speaker works. I played with the squelch. Any ideas where to start looking?

Welcome to the RR forums. Assuming you're trying to bring in an analog signal in VFO mode you'll need to make sure you're in FM or FM-N mode & don't have a tone squelch or DTCS tone set. If you do, no traffic will pass through unless it matches that tone. Refer to Section 15-8 of the user manual

1 Push [VFO/MHz] to enter the VFO mode
2 Push [MODE] to select the FM or FM-N mode

Make sure this is set to "off" for all traffic to be carried

TY for the quick reply. I did verify I was in FM and Tone was set to OFF. I'm programmed Tone and DTCS in other radios when I wanted to connect with a repeaters but they appear to be off. The scope shows signal coming through btw, I just can't hear it. I feel like your advice is on the right path because of that but I haven't figured out what.

I know it may not be too much of help but have you tried resetting the radio to see if it fixes the issue? A lot of times a full reset can usually fix any simple issues. It’s just a thought.
