the trunking system has to be unlocked to hear it.
when the radio is on,
hit the menu button, program system, hit yes
scroll to the trunking system you are trying to unlock, hit yes
scroll to edit site, hit yes
site xx-x p25, hit yes
scroll to set lockout, hit yes,
scroll to unlock, hit yes.
hit scan

unless you have a quick key for the system then use that. then go back and try the other post thing.

Have a Uniden PCD996P2 which I have downloaded the motorola trunking sites I want to scan using ProScan.
If you attach your ProScan programming file, we can take a look at it to check for errors. Chick on Attach files and Open the file. It would help to know your city, county, and state and which agencies you want to monitor.

In the scanner: Select System, Edit Sys Option, ID Scan/Search.
In ProScan: Systems Tab, Select the system of interest, ID Scan/Search it appears to the right of the system tree.

I guess i need someone to show me an example of what to import and how to set it up for a specific example; like say, a davis co utah utah comm authority motorola type II setup; specifically for clearfield PD. Then I could do others. I just can't seem to figure this whole trunking thing out.

I'm starting to figure this out I think. When I look at my Utah Communication Authority systems, it seems redundant to have all the frequencies attached with each and every system. Is there a more efficient way to combine this system into one? Or do all frequencies need to be listed with the system where the TGID's reside?
Thanks again for all the help. I am learning. Also, is anyone else having any issues accessing certain databases after downloading todays software update?

you only need to program the tower frequencies that are the closest to you, tgid's are system wide.

I see "Utah Communicati" system listed 5 times. You just need it 1 time. I would delete the systems and reimport that system from radioreference. Like ka3aaa advises, choose the tower(site) frequencies in range.
