Has anyone had any trouble using ID tracker to record with a BC245XLT? I have mine hooked up to my computer (running WindowsXP) with the audio output of the scanner going to the microphone input of the computer (I can hear the scanner's audio over the computer's speakers) and the remote output of the scanner going to the serial port of the computer (ID tracker shows the frequencies, IDs, etc. in real-time) and I have the "recording enabled" box checked, but it's not recording. Any suggestions?

I had problems with my 780 at first. I think finally, I just decided to download another audio capture program and record a little bit at a time. If nothing was good on it, then delete and do it again. I personally prefer and automatic way of doing it...but don't really use it much nor have the time to play with it right now.

I don't have a radio capable of using ID Tracker, but doesn't David say (on is site) that it does not work 100% with either the 245 or the Pro-2052?

Well, I would get another audio capture program, but this one has real promise since it will automatically aggregate the audio files by talk group.

Yes, he mentions that it has limited support to the 245, but i'm trying to figure out whether this is one of those "limited support" functions or not. In other words - should I continue to pound my head on my computer over this wondering what is wrong or not? :)

You could always contact him and ask. Hitch is a pretty reasonable guy, but pretty busy too, so be patient on waiting for a reply. I would be as specific as I could on your query though. 8)

Greenthumb,

ID Tracker works fine with the 245 - David restores support for the 245 and has released a couple of updated version - the most recent been v3.2.0.

The fact that your able to see t-group's and control the scanner tells me that likely it's just a setting you've missed. Recording is set-up under the edit bank screen. At the top of that screen there is an option called "Bank List". The two choices are "IDs" or "Freq's". Select IDs. From there on the lower left hand side there is a Recording Mode where one can select between to record "None", "Unidentified", "Identified" to name a few. So for example if I want to record only one or two ids I'll flag ALL my IDs as "Identified" except for the ones I'm interested in. I'll then set my recording mode to "Unidentified". From there I select "OK" to return me to the ID Tracker - Settings screen. The final setting is to enable recording by checking off the "Recording Enabled" box on this screen. Select "OK" and re-enable "Tracking..." and your set.

If this doesn't work you'll have to provide some more details of your settings or even screen shots?
