The situation is that when I close Proscan (or my computer restarts) when reopening it Proscan doesnt connect to my BCD436HP. I need to unplug, and re plug in the USB cable then select Serial for it to connect. This is a pain because my scanner is mounted remotely.

I get a blank display on ProScan and when in the Comm Port I can see "In use by this instance" however it still isnt connected. I can't see anywhere to flush the session and reconnect, e

Any ideas on how to get it to connect when opening?

I did see that there was an issue reported on the 996P2.

I have same issues on an Dell Lattitude E6500 with Windows 10, and BCD396XT, BCD436HP... I just do workarounds of rescans and switch USB ports etc... Almost as weird as the issues with Win92 and my PRO-92's where reading the scanners works but can not write to them lol (Thinking I need the mono adapter to write data)... Also noted that if you do NOT have the port speed settings matching on the BCD396XT, the puter, and ProScan, your going to have slow as heck communications. Figured that out experimenting with FreeSCAN and ProScan to see if I could figure out why it was taking over 10 minutes to do a DB load etc on the scanner.
