Would you post any frequencies you hear that contain preparations for the inauguration?

I've noticed over the past few days that the NTIA Federal System in D.C. seems to have greatly increased their transmitter power (a very subjective observation) and is involved with the preparations. The D.O.D. Fed-SMR net will probably also be involved with security. There has been a sharp increase in the amount of encryption on this net in recent days.

Perhaps coincidental but the MilAir freqs seem to be busier recently too. I would expect an increased air cover for the event so maybe this ties in.

That's all I've noticed so far.

The newest CHM newsletter should be out in about 2 weeks with many more details on this; but I would guess that the Andrews and DC trunks (both police and fire) will be gearing up, as well as USPP, Capitol Police, USSS, and lots of other agencies. I wouldn't ignore FRS, GMRS, MURS or ISR if you happen to be downtown, either.

Oh and by the way; it's likely, from a squeaky mouse I know, that the 400 mhz users will be the first to be affected by the mandated refarming coming this weekend, as Moto has been working overtime with users of this part of the spectrum. That means narrowbanding, and with the heightened security, it wouldn't surprise me if they went digital and encrypted...

And speaking of digital/encrypted, the new DoD LMR 300 Mhz trunk that has been mentioned will I have no doubt get a heavy workout.
