Ingham Co Updates

MPSCS 1487 is Jackson County Ambulance's dispatch into Ingham Co, used today to call Stockbridge amubulance. It's carried on Ingham Co as 03-023 MPSC2.

Lansing has approved upgrading the tower in the southwest part of the city -- it will carry a subset of talkgroups (as I understand it only those with affiliated radios in its range.) No real need for scanner users to add it.

LPD & LFD radios will get the upgrade -- haven't heard if Ingham Co Sheriff will do as well since they do prisoner transport to the hospital there, but at last check it was a no.

Went through Lansing the other day to and from Grand Rapids, had Ingham Co. Simulcast system programed into pro-96 heard nothing from the system, should I have had all 3 systems progamed into scanner or which one should have in to get the most hits?

101 is all you'd want to use, remembering to skip channel 0 in the Pro96. No need ever to use system 002 as it's only a subset, and 001 is just a list with the paging frequency #10 which isn't part of the trunked system.

The tower on the southwest side of Lansing (listed as 002 in the database) will start transmitting in November per LPD's chief.
