I know it's old (2018), but I just came across it the other day and found it amusing and thought I'd share.
Basically, it this Placer Co. Board of Supervisors agenda item said that inmates AM/FM radios at the Auburn Jail were able to listen to the correctional officers' radio system. So as a solution, they wanted to upgrade to a P25 conventional repeater.
The RRDB still shows the Auburn Jail as analog. Supposedly they also use DISPATCH 4 on the CIRN system, but this agenda item makes it seems they just wanted to upgrade their conventional repeater to digital and use the CIRN system as a backup.
