I am planning a trip to Ireland in September 2006. Anyone got any frequency information on it? Thanks.

Just an FYI...Northern Ireland is part of the UK, which has some restrictive scanner laws. I think you will be OK in the Republic of Ireland (southern 5/6 of the island).

During a recent trip to Ireland, all freqs from 150KHz to 30MHZ on my DX398 portable SW radio on batteries, I heard a terrible/raucous noise that just about blanked out all stations. I do not get this noise when using the radio at home in NYC. Does anyone know if the 220V AC system in Ireland is prone to such a noise? I got this in a 4 star hotel in Dublin or in many different Bed & Breakfast Inns throughout the country.

My scanner worked fine on the VHF and UHF bands (FM mode) with no problems. I did not try VHF AM for airplanes.

They do have their own version of BPL over there, I think. Didn't I see some website or message(s) about it somewhere....73 Mike
