Is anyone here using the Icom 7300 exclusively for SWLing and utility monitoring, and if so, what has been your experience?

It does fine. Outside antenna antenna is crucial, as you'd expect.

And only 1 antenna is actually needed.

Does the 7300 have good signal processing for reducing noise, etc.?

Yes, but I'd say probably no more or less than any other Yaesu or Kenwood in the same class. I use mine quite a bit for Utility and SWL and it's a pleasant experience overall. I also use a 706mkiig and the Rx seems the same, but the scope and audio on the 7300 makes for an overall better experience.
If anything is limiting my performance it would be my Hustler vertical, which is not bad but also not optimal.
