Yeah, that sound about right. You know him?

I've met him before... My Grandfather's house is on the other side of the highway from his shop/boat storage.

Do you have a console that the radio might fit into? That's where I keep my BC796D in my car, antenna in the trunk. You would never know that I have ears by just looking and when need arises for better reception I just pull out the antenna and stick it to the trunk lid.

Yeah, I just found a spot today in the consol that will work. There is a beam that attaches the seats together that I'm going to bolt some L-brackets to (props to KD5WLX for the idea) and mount the scanner to that. You guys have been great help! Thanks!

I wouldn't suggest mounting it on your dash. It will make your truck too tempting of a target for punks with sticky fingers. I've lost so much radio equipment to auto burglaries. If you DO mount it up there, I would suggest taping razor blades to the lower back side so the little punks will lose their finger tips when they try to rip it off your dash (can you sense my bitterness?).

Also, if the thieves don't get it, the Oklahoma sun will.
