Is there a good "HF antennas/grounding for dummies" resource anywhere?

when i disconnect from the window I remove the antennas and replace the bulkheads with pl259's that are filled with solder sending both sides of the antenna coax to ground.

Can I assume that by + spring terminal you're referring to the ground terminal and - spring terminal you're referring to the 500 ohm antenna connector? Just want to make sure, since these aren't marked with plus/minus on the back of my R-75.

Suzie, I think its better to skip the nomenclature. If you send me an e-mail I'm sure I can (step-by-step) walk you right through putting up a good window antenna for the IC-R75. No plexiglass, no screws, no baluns, no 2x4's. Its more important, I think, that you get going listening on that fine receiver.

Get the mother of all versions which was written by GE radio years ago, even though it has Ma/Com Tyco's name on it it was and still is the original GE land mobile standard doc for repeater and base station installations.

Go to the site below and at the very bottom of the page, 2nd from the last doc, download this file T4618R3A Standards - Site Grounding and Lightning Protection - Installation Manual AE/LZT 123 4618/1 R3A

A list of the LBIs available for free download at www.repeater-builder.com
