Can I assume that by + spring terminal you're referring to the ground terminal and - spring terminal you're referring to the 500 ohm antenna connector? Just want to make sure, since these aren't marked with plus/minus on the back of my R-75.
Suzie, I think its better to skip the nomenclature. If you send me an e-mail I'm sure I can (step-by-step) walk you right through putting up a good window antenna for the IC-R75. No plexiglass, no screws, no baluns, no 2x4's. Its more important, I think, that you get going listening on that fine receiver.
