I believe I am hearing the Little Rock FBI office here in Oklahoma City. The Little Rock office conducted a radio check w/ other Arkansas FBI offices. One morning, I believe they were skipping into the OKC repeater on 168.275. I don't know if they share the same input frequencies or maybe if their output is our input (I doubt that). If any of you listeners in the Little Rock area would give a listen to these two frequencies, it would aid us in identifying this as skip (and give you some FBI frequencies).

168.275 - this is our output freq
162.7375 - this is our input freq

You might try to catch a tone on them as well. I'm hearing the standard FBI tone of 167.9 PL. My guess is that their base unit is so strong that if it shares the same input as our repeater here, it could be skipping into our local repeater on the input.

Also, much of the FBI's radio traffic is DES encrypted, which sounds like white noise followed by silence or a beep. Any confirmation of traffic would help confirm this, but voice traffic w/ the correct PL tone would be great for confirmation.

Thanks for any and all help!

After the radio check not much has been happening. Here in Ar theres prolly not much action. Sounds like the dispatch is in clear most of the time while the other side is mostly white noise. I think they use radio checks for Little Rock, Hot Springs, and Texarkana.

Around 9:00 this morning I heard a radiocheck on 162.7375 with the tone of 167.9. I'm about 50 miles away from the rock but was getting 1 bar of signal.
So I would say that you have a repeater output on 162.7375 w/ 167.9 PL.

It's the opposite in OKC. The dispatcher is encrypted and a few units are in the clear.

Considering that I heard my radio check on 9/5/08 and you heard yours on 10/3/08, they are both the first Friday of the month, and within about 15 minutes of each other. I heard mine about 8:45 am, same radio check to those offices. So maybe it's every Friday morning or maybe just the first Friday of the month. You could give a listen next Friday...

So we did resolve the question... The Little Rock repeater output is skipping long-distance about 300 miles into the OKC repeater when conditions are right. Thanks so much for your help!
