Well it says they are on the site.

And I see the Whistler models have made it back as well.

I'm pretty sure they were on once, then disappeared.

I guess the Whistler 1065 is not the newest model.

Which one is the "800" mobile version? Is it the 1095...?

Those are not the digital models.

Rat Shack's website says differently...."RadioShack's PRO-651 is a digital triple-trunking handheld scanner that employs an intuitive object-oriented user interface. It stores up to 1800 objects in main memory and has 21 V-scanner memory for a total capacity to store over 39,000 objects."

Also, $399.99 is kind of steep for an analog scanner, don'tcha think?

The PRO-651 and PRO-652 are the new RadioShack numbers for the Whistler-manufactured equivalents of the PRO-106 and PRO-197.

PSR-500 / PRO-106 ---> WS1040 / PRO-651
PSR-600 / PRO-197 ---> WS1065 / PRO-652

The 651 and 652 are most definitely digital.

PSR-500 --> WS1040
PSR-600 --> WS1065
PSR-800 --> WS1080
PSR-900 --> WS1095

(PSR-900 is a "mobile" version of the PSR-800. Never released by GRE, though it did make it to beta hardware and appeared at a show/convention or two).

I stand corrected. I was going by what was on the front page, showing all the scanners, which does not mention digital. Digital is listed on the page for the individual models.

Don, do you know if they have a model equivalent to the Radio Shack Pro96? Would the parts be interchangeable? I have a Pro96 that works, but the volume knob has a problem, and the you cannot turn the sound up or down, meaning that regardless of what you do with the knob, you have no sound. But it's clear that its still picking up signals and working fine, because everything still comes across the screen normally, and it is picking up trunked frequencies, etc.

None of the announced models are like a PRO-96, and while not speaking for Whistler (obviously), I'd really doubt that they would go back to a circa 2003 design. That said, Uniden repair can likely fix this. $49.50 + $10 shipping.

Thanks Upman, really appreciate your taking time to reply, and it speaks well of Uniden's customer service. If you happen to have a moment, do you have a website or 800 number where I can find out more on how to do that? You're awesome, and keep up the great work.

Thanks Upman, I appreciate it. By the way, I know you and Don S work for different companies, but I have to say, as two professionals in the same industry, you are both really awesome, and I very much appreciate the postings I have seen from each of you on the forums. Keep up the great work.

Gentlemen, this is a thread about Whistler's new scanners not encryption.

I've deleted several off topic messages.
