Much better

(this isn't new but I'm using it anyway)

What's a better car - Chevy or Ford?

What soda is better - Pepsi or Coke?

(answer -- )

Only you can decide for yourself (and that doesn't mean you can decide for everyone else).

Wait a bit for the release of the Whistler badged PSR 800. If you were happy with it. I have the PSR-800 and the Uniden 436. I use the PSR 800 all the time. The Uniden is still under development if you ask me. It's been out 6 months and still doesn't have a feature it was advertised to have. It's Audio AGC is not nearly as good as any digital PSR.

QUOTE=al7hg;2220939]My PSR 800 was stolen this week in Lafayette, Indiana. Watch for it in local pawn shops. What would be a good replacement? I travel a lot and liked that with the 800 I could go just about anywhere, type in the name of the city and everyting was there. Do any other scanners have this feature?

Which feature does the Uniden 436 not have that it says it has? What's the difference between the PSR-800 and the new Uniden Scanners?

Missing feature on Uniden

Read the Uniden Forums for the answer. Read the Wiki on the two radios for the difference.

Radio Scanners

There is a Wiki for radios here on RR. It lists all the features of each conclusion without anyone's bias.
It's easy to read easy to understand and pretty complete.
It's located here
Category:Radio Models - The RadioReference Wiki

I am not going to comment on what feature is missing on the Uniden in the GRE forum. If you read many of the Uniden forums you will find out what is missing. It's fun to read and search and very amazing how much information is here to be discovered.

Here is one example of many threads

Cheers

Being a Whistler thread, I guess the focus should be on the OP?

The question must have been answered by now. Whistler is selling the clones of the original GRE analog and digital radio from (now) six years ago. Going forward maybe we will see new technology in 2015?

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming already in progress...
