It seems that Island Lake PD and Tower Lakes PD have left the Lake County EDACS system that they had been on. They also aren't using their old 158.730 channel either.

Any ideas?

I'm in Island Lake quite often and receive PD traffic on 155.655 / 103.5 (although this could be more Wauconda related, I'm not sure)

I've never heard IL/TL on the EDACS system, nor on their old VHF freqs. Heard some snowplow traffic there during the blizzard but that's it. So, yes, any ideas would be appreciated.

That would be Wauconda PD (actual PL is 127.3).

Thanks!

I know it's listed as 127.3, however the repeater here is full scale, shows 103.5 on my 996 and is also programmed in to an MTS2000 as 103.5. Hearing 81xx units identifying.

I don't know why, but I am hearing Wauconda plain as day on 127.3, on both the input (158.940) and output (155.655), with 81xx ID's and Wauconda locations. The dispatcher obviously uses a control station, the antenna must be pointed straight at me as they are stronger on the input than the repeater is from my place.

I had heard IL/TL on the VHF (158.730) before they went to the EDACS system, but never really had a reason to listen to them until someone on the CARMA board and here on RR reported they disappeared.

I had gone thru there a few times since then and not heard them via CloseCall or on the known channels, so I wonder if they aren't using Nextel or something. If they popped up on StarCom21 or the McHenry County SC21 node I am sure someone would have heard them.

I have also been checking the LCSO EDACS system, locking out anything already known, but so far nothing.

Tower Lakes and Starcom

Wauconda is now on Starcom . . . hearing them tonight on TG 2451, Radio IDs 78000s. I read in the Village Board minutes a couple weeks ago that they may be signing an agreement with Tower Lakes to piggyback with them on Starcom, with Wauconda doing the dispatching.

Wauconda's contract with Tower Lakes to provide dispatching and facility usage is on the agenda for discussion at tomorrow's Committee-of-the-Whole meeting.

No news yet on that discussion at the CoW meeting.

But just for fun I looked at the LC Sheriff EDACS system's Island Lake talk group on my PRO-106 last night; I've had exactly five hits on it since I got the scanner the first weekend of December.
