Over the past few weeks I have noticed that ISP District 14 West Lafayette (dispatch ID 12432) is being patched through ISP District 16 Peru (talkgroup patch ID 12515) in the late evening and early morning hours. This past Saturday around 11:30 pm I actually caugth the transmission when Dist. 14 dispatcher said they were turning over Dist. 14 dispatch to Peru patch. Does anyone know why they are doing this? I figure it is a cost saving initiative since there isn't that much activity in Dist. 14 in the late evening and early morning hours. I know when I go to work in the morning (around 8:30) Dist. 14 is back dispatching on their normal TG.

I hope this hasn't been discussed already and I missed it. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Oops... Maybe this should have been posted in the SAFE-T Discussion Thread Sticky?

From what I understand it is becuase they do not have enough Dispatchers trained at D14 to cover all the shifts. I do not know if they are working on getting this resolved or if they plan on leaving it that way for a while.
