It's been out for so long, so why so little on the AR6000?

Back in 2013 (11 years ago), the AR600 was advertised in magazines like Monitoring Times...

... why has so little been mentioned about it? If you go to their website, AR6000 | RECEIVERS | AOR U.S.A., INC. Authority On Radio Communications it's still being sold and even mentions that it runs a newer version AirSpy software...

... also what makes a "QUALIFIED PURCHASER"...

Do they need your bank balance or something? I find it hard to believe it's because of the "no gaps in coverage" because almost ever SDR I've seen will do that.

Price way to high for the average hobbyist is one. All most sure government sales only on this model as said in the advertisement. This model with no gaps in coverage is a completely different animal to an SDR. Many more examples but you can find them if you look.

A qualified purchaser typically means a federal government agency.

That is plain evil, putting an advertisement for a radio like that in a hobbyist magazine, but giving the readers 'the bird' by essentially saying
"NaNa NaNa Naaaa Na, you can't can't have one!"

Not all purchasers are in the US.

You can thank the US Federal Govt for the assinine restrictions, not the manufacturer. All because some knucklehead posted audio from a govt officials cell phone back in the days of analog FM 880Mhz cell.

It covers the old analog 800 MHz cell phone frequencies so you need to be a government agency or contractor to buy it.
