Jacksonville, Fl. FCRS Backup Site install is going on so your scanner may hangup on Control Channel 855.4875 with no voice. Radios are being denied right now so no voice on backup. Monitor 855.2125 and delete 855.4875 are create a new system without 855.4875.

A hour ago I deleted the 855.4875 out of the sds100/200. I wonder what caused that freq to do some weird odd ball stuff to the system?

They are installing the Back Up System and right now the need 2 control channels to do it. When they get done I think the backup will go silent until a failure then it will kick in with the regular control channel out of the normal 4 options.

wait, so they didnt just go with a 28ch ASR site like we had at Modis? If so the entire thing would be up there with nothing off site. Did they buy an M2 core to go along side the primary core?

I assume they don't want both cores at the same location in case of Flooding that blocked access to the Backup Site back a couple of years ago during the Hurricane. Since the main site was moved earlier this year from Old JEA Building to the New Site which is still Downtown they must of decided to play it safe. I would think an M2 core ,but that is an assumption.

DSR/geo-redundant prime site requires an M3 core, even if it's a single zone (RFSS) system.

When I was there, we had the main 3.x simulcast, but the backup system was just a single site MTC3600 standalone with the SYSID and freqs being the same. We left the SAC and TG database open and it in standby. We had to manually put it on air should the main SZ 3.0 have to go off air.

I had assumed they would duplicate this with the 7.x, but it does not appear so. It just appears to be a DSR upgrade with no standalone duplicate ASR system.

Yes, They also have been staying updated on the System Software. Where they really didn't do that on the 3.0. I guess that Forklift upgrade made them stay updated on this system. They are adding 5 more sites, but that won't be finished until 2029. MCC site is scheduled to be finished in 2024.

Seems they are done using the Control Channel of 855.4875. So you should be able to add it back as of now. Just remember if it happens again just delete the CC that they are using.
