Haven't heard anything in several months on the JJRTC system in Laurel. Wondering if maybe they're on a different system now.

Where were you hearing them previously? You can run Unitrunker, DSD+FL, or SDRTrunk to see if their tgs are now encrypted. I'll check my data for the last time I saw activity - I don't get to Beltsville very often.

There is a federal system in the area that IDs as BEE00-4C1 ("Federal Law Enforcement Training Center P25" according to RRDB) in the 407 band. It has two sites: 001-002 in Brunswick, GA, and 001-030 apparently in Beltsville. Back in December, I saw some activity on tg 413, but was encrypted.

The Rowley Training Center is for USSS -- ignoring sematics, it's not FLETC like Brunswick is. However, there is one FLETC in the DC area -- on some of the grounds of the former Naval Communications Station Cheltenham.

A bit far from Beltsville, but certainly a candidate. A resurvey is indicated.

I'm hoping to squeeze in a PG loop in my schedule today to investigate. One consideration is that both the USSS and the FLETC fall under DHS.

Did the loop. Site 001-030 is definitely Rawley. Cheltenham looks to in process of installing a trunked system in the 170 VHF range as I saw what appears to be a test pattern on 171.xxxx but no active control channel. Note that the USCP system is strong in the area. Since their academy is held there, there might be a site for the system nearby to support their training.
