It seems that JC has done a partial restructuring of the system. I'm hearing several agencies on new TG IDs. Anyone else noticed this? I knew something was up when I started hearing all the bus channels I had locked out. Sounds like they've even added a few.

I think 34288 is UAB PD. I've heard them go to UAB ER, Lister Hill Library and Jefferson Towers. I've also head them doing something over near UAB Highland.

UAB PD 34288
UAB PD TAC 34320
Morris PD 33968

I've had UAB's old VHF frequencies in my regular scan bank all day and there is nothing
except the Morse ID. I never listened to UAB very much but from what I have heard
34288 is CH-1 (154.8000 old VHF) 34320 CH-2 (154.9950 old VHF - Physical Security)
There's a good list of the building codes they use at Scanbirmingham but I don't know
how current it is. The Signals & Ten-Codes are almost identical to Bimingham PD.

The signal codes ARE the same as BPD. UAB case numbers are assigned by the BPD radio room, therefore they must use the same codes.

I haven't noticed any changes to them, yet. Mostly smaller municipalities, but not all of them.

Mostly looks like agencies that were analog are upgrading to digital like MAX & Adamsville
PD. UAB PD is the only new user I have noticed but then I don't scan in 'open' mode that much.
I think Bessemer PD & FD are simulcasts of their VHF systems. Centerpoint FD does this also - possibly for mutual-aid?

Restructure/Bus TGID's/Various

Dave,
I have a BC396 with the ARC396 Software. I have been logging traffic using the ARC396 logging feature for some 6 or 8 months. I have the MAX buses on 37200 - Ch A - Routes; 37232 - Ch B - Supervisors; 37264 - Ch C - Shop and 37296 - Ch D - VIP/Handicap. I also have heard MAX using 37488 as a possible alternate or 2nd Ch A - Routes and 37520 as an alternate or 2nd Ch C - Shop.
Last night I heard a TGID of 34096 and it sounded like PD traffic from the area around Hiway 269 and Lexington St N (near Minor) They were logged in on the ARC396 log this morning as well. Any clues who this is? Last night they were talking about looking for a suspect or suspects and mentioned the Sheriffs so I thought it might be Minor PD.
I have also noticed that any TGID's above about 30000 (or 32768 and up) appear to be Digital and anything below 30000 (32767 and down) are Analog.
I also have logged 40+ I-Call TGID's and if you are interested in the list I have let me know. Based on some of the other posts linked to your site (I believe it was your posting) it looks as if any of the I-Call TGID's starting with 749xxx are Birmingham PD and 753xxx are Birmingham Fire. The lowest I-Call TGID I show is 703800 and the highest is 755518.
About me - I live in Center Point and work as a Security Guard at and industrial plant in North Birmingham. I take my BC396 to work and listen when I'm not out making a round. I usually concentrate on Bham/JeffCo and surronding counties especially while at work, but at home I also log several other counties as well as Railroad and Aircraft.
Good hunting

North AL. Radio

Last week I was up visiting for a few days in the Decatur - Huntsville area the state 800 radio was silent, Al. state troopers were still using the vhf system, Decatur city still on UHF, city fire is on VHF. Madison County is using 800. and Morgan Co. is on VHF.

Decatur Fire is on the 800 EDACS system. Dispatch is also simulcast on the VHF system and you may here other traffic there occasionally but 98% of their traffic is on the EDACS system. Decatur EMS, Morgan Co Rescue Squad, Trinity PD, Priceville PD, and Decatur PD mobile data are also on the EDACS system. Decatur PD would like to go to it but I think it is a money issue. The Sheriff basically said "Hell no we won't go" as far as the EDACS goes but has agreed to let others use his equipment and frequencies. As far as the State system goes in Hsv, Huntsville Utilities uses it and the HEMSI supervisors also use it some.

Things haven't changed much since I lived up there! Is Hartselle Police & Fire still on VHF or have
they went 100% LINC?

A few months ago I worked on one of the sites for the water system in Hartselle. There radios were located under the water tank I serviced, and they were still in service. The echo under that tank was very strange when someone talked on the radios. Again, that was several months ago when I was at there site. It could have changed since then.

It's great to hear from you! Thanks for the info. I've been hearing those extra bus channels, too. Also, I have a few new TG ID's that I haven't figured out, either. 37520 sounded like PD, 23152 was a Rescue Unit - Unknown Department. I'm still working on the ICall ID's, too. I have a small list, most of which are BPD Sgts or beat cars.

As for 34096, I don't think it would be Minor PD. I don't think they have one... unless it's new. Very interesting find.

Good luck with your list!

Dave,
A MilAir Freq I found is 163.5875 (DPL 067) and sounds like Birmingham ANG and is used for maintenance. I've heard them refering to what sounds like aircraft numbers and activity that indicates they are doing maintenance. I haven't heard any of the other Bham ANG freqs I have in my file.

I've also heard ANG Base Security on it, too. It shows up as a digital channel for me.

HPD tried the SouthernLincs for dispatch but it in the end they wound up back on the VHF system. Hartselle Fire purchased some EDACS radios and are using the EDACS system with a Patch to 154.265.
