Jefferson/Berkeley Fires

Been hearing a lot bits and pieces from the State Police about some fires. I think some were in Charles Town. I don't monitor Jefferson Co. that much so I don't know about any rash of fires there. One fire might have been this morning and I think it might be somewhere in Berkeley Co. since I believe there were a few deputies at the fire scene as well.

Trooper asked the other to write up something for a press release "if that is what you want to call it" and place it on his desk. Anyone have any more info? Also might want to check the local news sources later.

EDIT: There was a trailer fire reported about 03:45 this morning off of Douglass Grove Road. BCSO unit 108 was on TAC1 (channel fire command was on) and advised that he would try to get someone from the Arson team out there and he would not be able to respond since he was working another one. He also mentioned there was another apparent arson of a trailer right across the street. I also now remember over the past few days there being a lot of encrypted traffic on TAC7, which is used for Arson investigations.

Right now Jefferson has a working outside fire on Leetown Rd south of Rt 9. 1456hrs-fire is now under control.

Another fire just finished being put out. Right off RT11 right before the MD line. Arson Team going to respond to the scene later.

Another fire on Potters Court. Deputy 108 there. 108 just advised Berekley Dispatch to let the "us" the (Arson Team) know.

Jefferson Co Fire

Working fire with possible entrapment, area of Cedar Run and Mopar. Investigation team has been put on standby.
2014: Investigators have been ordered. Unknown if there is entrapment or not. Male occupant cannot be located. Correct address is 256 Cedar Run Ln.
Owner was located five hours away and nephew was not at the location at the time of the fire.

Last night, there was another fire in Jefferson (I posted it in the VA forum since I thought it was in Loudoun) and shortly after another in Berkeley. The one in Berkeley, the FD asked for the Sheriff's Dept. Arson team to come to the scene. I hope that if these and the others are from arson, that they catch the person(s) and have a public hanging. What in the world would make someone want to do this? I don't understand at all.

Kind of what I was getting at. Someone’s going to get hurt or killed. Think about the fire fighters that are put in danger every time they go out for these. What if one time this person gets a place not abandoned or if they move on to place where they know people are.

Another fire in Berkeley Co., not sure exactly where. This time its a barn. BCSO is locking down the area and not letting anyone in unless they live there. Reserves are en route to assist.

18:50 - 2 firefighters down. open mic on TAC1. my ProScan stream is up labeled as Jefferson Co.

Both were taken to the hospital and from listening they seem like they will be fine.

I have seen this before in other places. Until the person is caught it will escalate. I hope that no one gets hurt. Any update on the location?

They are still trying to put it out as of right now. Go to ProScan and get the client and look for Berkeley Co. WV in the list, that's mine.

They were dispatched again this morning for a re-kindling of the barn fire.

A lot of traffic last night and today on TG 9189. Last night I heard the fire marshals say they were going to be here for the next three days. I wasn't sure where they were talking about but it must have been Berkeley Co.

Unfortunately there has also been a rash of outside fires in Jefferson County in the last serveral days. Some have been outside where people have been illegally burning brush, debirs, etc.. Others as I recall were possibly near abandoned structures. (I may be wrong on this though.) There have been so many I hardly have been paying attention to these calls. I only hope that the FMs are able to catch whoever is responsible and are able to get the maximum sentence under the law. This is no joke or "prank". If it keeps up they will eventually be caught and I hope probation should not be an option. If convictions
are achieved hard time should be the punishment.

I just heard that they made an arrest in the barn fire that the firefighter got burned at in Berkeley County. Unfortunately it was a volunteer fireman. They say that fire is unrelated to the other ones, so an arsonist is still out there. The burnt fireman is in pretty bad shape; prayers to he and his family.
