Hello all,

I have been monitoring conventional frequencies in the Louisville area, and have noticed that the LMPD Police 1 and Police 3 channels are no longer patched from the MetroSafe system to conventional frequencies (155.5800, 460.1000, respectively). Also, LMEMS Med 1 is no longer patched to a conventional frequency (462.9750). I have put in a submission to update the page.

However, Suburban Fire page, VHF mutual aid, and LMPD Car-to-Car are all in use on VHF frequencies. I was wondering if anyone else in the Louisville area knows of any other conventional frequencies that are used by public safety agencies in Jefferson County, or that may be patched from the MetroSafe system?

Thanks!

In regards to the conventional frequencies, the MetroSafe trunked system has gone through some recent upgrades so they temporarily took the patches down, from what I've heard they're currently planned to come back online once all the upgrades are complete.

In regards to the LMPD VHF Car to Car, that frequency is not patched to anything and is just for communication between LMPD cars which is why it was not affected by the system upgrades, additionally on the JCF Page VHF frequency that remained online as it is used to activate the fire pagers for all of the suburban county fire departments with the exception of Shively Fire who gets dispatched on LFR channels on the trunked system.

As far as other conventional frequencies, I'm pretty sure that is about it that would still be in use. Nearly all public safety agencies in Jefferson County use the trunked system for comms, however occasionally the old VHF Fire Mutual Aid does get patched to talkgroups on the system for mutual aid between Jefferson and surrounding counties, and also gets patched often to the Hospital talkgroups when an out of county EMS unit is bringing in a patient typically on an emergency response.

I was listening to 460.1000 the other week when some cops where watching/waiting for a drug deal to go down. It was just down the street from my house on lower Brownsboro Rd at the krogers. It was good times.
