In some ways it's better than Uniden when it comes to audio and not needing to enter LCN values for trunked sites and its digital decoder are of much higher quality, but in other ways it's worse.
For trunked systems it can be slow to pick up a conversation where a Uniden instantly catches it, but at the other hand Uniden seems to skip some conversations where TRX finds them all, especially when it comes to private radio to radio conversations. But TRX have a worse receiver as it both have issues with strong signal and are not as sensitive as Unidens scanners.
There's no perfect scanner but Uniden anyways has the general best scanner for weak signal and complex system monitoring. If they only could sort out their digital decoding issues. But their firmware team are in Asia and there's never a good idea to have important and crucial development being done so far away from where the software are to be used and it can also create a difficult language and culture barrier.
