SO far when using on the battery the 150 doesn't even get warm. I use it at work and leave it run most the day and its not even a touch warm. Are people seeing it get warm when charging or?

I haven’t noticed any issues with heat. A couple days ago I kept it on in my coat pocket whole shopping and it said the battery temperature was 100 yet the radio was barely warm to the touch.

The SDS100 runs warm too...
Extremely warm if running the scanner and charging the battery at the same time...
That's why I use the external charger with it...

There were many people that were "in heat" when this scanner was announced...but that may not be related to the OP's question so I'll move along.

To try to actually contribute something relevant to the thread though, no issues here, although it will be interesting to hear from folks from warmer climates and/or see how this runs when summer arrives. I'm sure it'll be fine.

its computing inside . where would you like the heat to go ? your laptop does it . got a cell phone ? yep that does it also . that being said I used mine a couple days at work . computing warmth because I had it backlit and a heavy talk group locked in . but hot? no . no issues here knowing its working as it should .

Yup, I agree. I figured the warmth from the 100 was normal since it is, as you said, a mini computer; however, the 150 runs cooler so it seems like, to me anyways, Uniden found a way to vent that heat better. I have not noticed the 150 getting warm while in use or charging.

@jasonhouk beta tested in the heat this past Summer, plus a trip to Florida recently and he didn't report any heating issues. You are correct...it was fine.

Sorry that you couldn't figure out that I was comparing it to the sds100 which gets warm and the 150 doesnt.. I am a network administrator I am very aware of how things get warm
