• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Any replacement for the Y32 in the works that uses the new cups yet?
Word is the sales and demand for the KAS-12 and the Y32K was not up to expectations. Didn't flop, but didn't meet the demands to continue it's use.

I figured, can't say I've personally heard of anyone using it

I used it for a while, but then moved the entire fleet to RKNBL2-LiP batteries which Y32K/KAS-12 did not support so fell out of favor. The idea was good, but poorly implemented, it really needed to be in gang chargers, and should have been a cloud and BLE based solution. The product as offered was just not scalable beyond 1 user, 1-2 chargers and a half dozen batteries, after that point the human capital capital costs for associated with predictive/preventative maintenance became more than replacement batteries were.

Well, I'll just add that Armada comes with a battery management server. You can either set up a dedicated server machine and point all of your computers to it within your network, or just point it internally to each PC, and it will keep track of all of the L2-L11 or so series batteries when you connect to Armada. If the radio has OTIP, it can do it over your wi-fi network.
So even if you have NX/TK radios, if they are using the L-series batteries, you can take the battery off and put it on a VP radio and keep track of it that way. Each battery has it's own serial number.

That info should also be advertised if you have the BLE option for Trackuracy on NX radios and BLE on Viking radios.

I've used a Y32 for a few years now and besides some rudimentary playtime with the battery management software, it's more or less just been a more friendly design of the KSC32 for us.

Not surprised it flopped.
