They are both conventional P25. But, the sheriff is using Linear Simulcast Modulation, and you will want to make sure that whatever device you are using is programmed accordingly otherwise you will miss traffic, especially when scanning.

Ok that would explain alot. What pleasant prarie police? I have 154.875 dpl309. Are they encypted? Or using the same Linear?

PPPD is now P25 and is listed under Pleasant Prairie for Kenosha County, and they are NOT encrypted.

Your post above said you had it with a DPL of 309. A DPL is for analog, while a NAC is for digital. If you have it set to DPL you will be missing a whole lot of traffic. I was just in the area yesterday and had zero issues hearing them on P25.

Does the xts2500 vhf model 3 be able to pick up the kenosha sheriff?

Most of them can. Just look for “Q806: ASTRO IMBE Digital Operation” in the flashcode. No need to worry about trunking.
