Question, dispatch for north, east and west seem to have moved from the analog freqs. I can listen on broadcastify, but can't find frequencies in Kent county radio reference database. Using Radioshack Pro-2096. Kent county control channels are programed. Thanks much.

Right, I'll be the first to admit I'm not real savvy with the MPSCS system, so bear with me. With the new system I programmed in my surrounding counties control frequencies including Kent Co 853.1375 and 853.250. I don't hear squat, on either off those, what am I doing wrong? I have no idea on what tower I'm picking up, but I'm closest to the one in south Wyoming. I do hear transmissions from surrounding counties. Thanks for any help.

Hopefully you have a digital scanner, definitely I hope your not just putting in frequencies, otherwise you'll be hearing plenty of things outside your county, plus most annoying of course is all police is encrypted. So unknown what radio you have, whistler/radio shack would let through the encrypted noises, Unidens it would show up as ENC, but quickly resume scanning.

If you have a digital, program with talkgroups is the only way to go so then you can filter out the encrypteds, listen to talkgroups and follow them, pause/hold on an important activity it just goes on and on honestly.

Far as the old frequencies, they were removed since they no longer were in use a few months ago.

Thank you for the replies. I'm using a Radio Shack Pro 2096 digital trunking scanner. Programming the control freqs for my surrounding area works well. I am also receiving transmissions on the Kent Co control channels, state police etc. My question is why am I not receiving Kent Co fire and ems on the control channels. Is there a new control channel not yet in the database? If I can hear them(Kent Co fire and ems) on Broadcastify why not on my radio? Thank you.

You are correct, between 512MHz and 806MHz I got nothin. Oh well thanks so much for answering my question, seeing how this scanner was purchased in 2006, maybe it's time for an upgrade, lol, thanks again.

Digital scanners holdup on the resale market, ebay and Facebook marketplace.
Uniden model’s that are digital, prices lowest to highest:
996P2, 325P2, 436HP, Home Patrol2, 536HP, SDS 100, SDS 200.

The SDS models are expensive, but work flawlessly in counties as yours with multiple towers.

Whistlers generally dont hold up in simulcast unless your relatively near a tower. Michigan's Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) Site: Kent County Simulcast

Thanks for the help and information. I'll give the SDS 200 some serious thought.

Unfortunately, the PRO-2096 was manufactured before the 700 MHz band became available. The SDS200 would be the best choice for the Kent County Simulcast site. The SDS100 handheld and SDS200 base/mobile were specifically designed to work with simulcast systems. Any other scanner may or may not work depending upon your location in relation to the towers.
