Kenwood: Kenwood MC-53, MC-58 microphone elements

I have 2 MC-53 and 2 MC-58 dtmf mics that I use with my Kenwood 742’s. The funny thing is they all have different sounds. Only 1 sounds good. The other 3 are either too quiet or way too tinny. What could the issue be?
are there some different mic elements that I could put in these?

Have you done any mods to try and level them out?

One of mine that is very tinny, I recapped it with quality caps…..no change..

No. I assume that the inconsistency is in the mic element. If you could find a suitable replacement element, that might fix the problem...or make it worse.
