• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi i work in a business were we where using the NX-P1300NU we bought those from a vendor they came with a special programming then we needed more and we bought some NX-P1302AU from a different site, we tried cloning them with the 2 pin cable but the P1302AU flashes white and yellow when the PTT button on the P1300NU is pressed, is there something blocked or is the procedure being done wrong, im a newbie on this matter just trying to figure out and help the business i work for.

From the manual:
d) The source transceiver and the target transceiver
must have same model name data.
I assume that means "you can't do that".

Now the NX-P1302AU apparently has a "self-programming mode" described in the user manual if you know the freqs/tones and other configuration info that the existing radios use. Not sure how capable that is if you don't have display radios (I use the KPG-D6N software always) and/or have unusual/individual signalling requirements.

Honestly, this is why dealers exist. The extra $$ that a dealer charges isn't for nothing – it pays for having cables, software, the skills to use them, and sometimes decades of knowledge of radio systems that can save users from some pretty esoteric mistakes.

Suggestion: find a local dealer to help you get it done. :)

Also noted, the "NU" radios are NXDN and Analog capable, the "AU" units are analog only. If you are using NXDN, then it's impossible to clone to the analog only radios.

To add to what others have said, out of the box the NX-P1300NU is only compatible with the NX-P1302 with the default frequencies/tones in Zone 2 in each radio.

I really don't know if you can clone a 1300 to a 1302. Further, you say your 1300 radios cam with special programming - I don't know what that special programming is or means. Could be they were converted to the LMR version, or maybe just that the tones were changed. Also, if you're using NXDN on the 1300 you're SOL on using the 1302 with them, unless you add NXDN to it.

Also the existing codeplug has to have "cloning" enabled for it to work.
