To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi folks, newbie round this forum.

I just bought a TK-8360 for a personal project I am starting with but it comes to a problem when trying to program it. I am using KPG-135D v2.21, KPG-46 cable and radio powered with 13.8V but when I try to read from radio it restarts itself. It behaves like this: I connect the cable, select COM port, click on the "read from radio button", radio shows "program" for about a second in its display but then it restarts again.

I tried without success making a hard reset. At this moment radio is unavaiable to be read from nor written to.

Thank you in advance for your help.

TK-8360E is the European market model.
You would need KPG-135D activated with the correct European market code serial number.

Although the power cycling can be from low current. Just to be sure, what's the specs on the power supply you are using? Voltage and amperage, please?

Hi again,

That is what I thought while searching on the internet, but I don't know where to find this key as this program is discontinued and just found it with a North American key. Is there any other solution to use this radio?

PD: using a 13.8V 30A switching power supply I use for this lab tests.

Thank you again
