    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

kenwood tk3312 mdc decode problem

Hello,

I have a few tk3312 and we have decided to use mdc1200 decode. I am having 2 problems when using the mdc decode.

First, when the radio receives the mdc burst the ID gets stuck on the screen and the radio doesn't reset. I have tried to change the reset setting in the radio and nothing happens.

Second, If I have a alias in the ID field, the radio is only displaying the mdc number and not the alias although I have an alias list made.

Does anyone know if a firmware upgrade exists to fix this problem? If so can they send it too me?

I got the newest version of software and all that did was make the radio decode the correct alias from my ID list. The radio is still stuck with the id on the display and won't resume scan. Is there a firmware upgrade?
