I am trying to figure out where the problem is on my TM-733A. It won't transmit on UHF. It does on VHF. I was reading the manual and it has verbiage about "Transmit lock". I wonder if anyone out there knows if this radio can be locked so it will only transmit on one band by selection: VHF or UHF? If this is simply something I can release with the proper sequence of button pushes, it will eliminate lots of troubleshooitng and possible component replacement. Thanks for reading.

The 'Transmit Band Lock' feature locks transmit to a single band, when locked clicking the volume knob for each band only switches control between VHF & UHF, transmit remains locked to one side only.

Clicking the 'F' key then the UHF volume knob should unlock the UHF band. Instructions are on page 20 in this manual.

Another possibility is the repeater offset is set incorrectly placing transmit outside of the ham band.

Thanks. I have both the user manual and the service manual, both original copies, complete with all color pictorials and schematics, etc. I guess I just didn't comprehend exactly what I was reading. I should have read it in the daytime instead of at 11:30 at night !!! I'll see if this fixes it tomorrow. I wonder if a "master reset" would negate that? I really have no frequencies or PL tones I couldn't re-enter. Thanks again.
