To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

The TKR-850 is a UHF analog repeater. It'll work with the Motorola if it's the UHF model and in analog mode only.
This will not work in digital mode right since the repeater is an NXDN?

The TKR-850 is ANALOG only. It does not do NXDN. It does not do DMR. It does not do P25.
The Motorola radio you asked about does ANALOG and DMR.
The only way to make these two work together is in ANALOG mode. That is the commonality between them.

Not exactly sure what you mean here.
The Kenwood TKR-850 needs to be programmed using correct software to function on the frequency pair you are licensed for in your country. The repeater will have a Country Code, and the programming software/activation code will need to be of the same country code for it to work correctly.
The repeater duplexer will need to be tuned on site by a competent trained technician with the correct test equipment.
The Motorola radios will need to be properly programmed with their correct software by a competent technician to work on the frequency pair the repeater is working on.

That's over simplifying it.
A repeater that old needs to be tested/aligned to make sure it's working correctly. That requires the right tools/test equipment/knowledge/skill.
The repeater needs to be programmed correctly. It needs to match whatever your license permits.
The duplexer needs to be tuned. That requires the right tools/test equipment/knowledge/skill. If not done correctly, it's going to have very poor range.
If you've got all that covered, then the portable radios need to be programmed.
But it's not as simple as programming it identically to the repeater. Things will actually be reversed. The repeater transmits on one frequency, and the portable radios receive on that frequency. The repeater receives on another frequency, and the portable radios transmit on that frequency.
Repeaters are not simple things to install. We go through this frequently on this site. People will buy a used repeater and assume that it is simple to set up. They then spend another few thousand dollars trying to make it work correctly.
Just make sure you understand all this before purchasing any equipment. It's not a simple process.
