I took a day trip to Kingston Ont. thursday, a sort of scan-expedition,
so started this thread to discuss some findings. There was a lot of ground
to cover for one day, with objective of grabbing as much new data
as possible.
First, digital voice was found (content not heard) in Kingston on 142.020
and 142.560, neither of which is a Fleetnet channel at least in Zone 2.
Appears to be conventional, with a short beep at start of transmission.
Activity seemed to correlate with activity on 142.815, a known KPD
digital channel. Someone had checked into this awhile back but didn't find
much; might check this again, even if it's ENC.
I also heard continuous data on 422.8375 sounding like an MDT system:
raspy buzzing noise. Also heard this in Smiths Falls where it was strong
enough to trigger CC near the police station, which has some UHF
antennas on a mast. As expected, TAFL doesn't show anything.
Ottawa has nothing on this frequency. So...any ideas?
