Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Customer has replaced radio with new XPR5550e. The Knox box was working with previous XPR radio. Now Knox display is showing error message that not all digits decoded. Some are being decoded so audio is getting to the box at an appropriate level. Is there in the 5550e any type of audio profile that might cut high freqs or low freqs that my prevent decoding of specific digits.

Do you have access to the old XPR profile? Where are they pulling RX audio for the lockbox decoder? Assuming they are using the rear accessory connector - pay attention to the coding for Pin #11 which can be set for either filtered or flat audio. They could also be using one of the programmable I/O pins.

Lots of guessing if you don't have access to the original setups.

Just because it is new doesn't mean it is sending DTMF clear enough. I have radios need alignment right out of the box.

I should have been more clear in my initial post. I don't have any access to the code plugs. We are the console vendor. Motorola shop told Chief it was a console problem and check with us. After my initial post, I found out boxes connected to other 5550e radios are decoding fine. I advised Chief to go back to their dealer and compare code plugs and they would probably find their problem. Thanks to all for the info and responses.
