Can anyone shed some light into this oddity? The RoseHill Amateur Radio club recently was granted a Part 73 LPFM broadcast license. Any idea what they plan on airing?

The facility is about 300' AGL at 9 Watts ERP.

The Rosehill Amateur Radio Club has existed as an informal association
of amateur HAM radio broadcasters for almost 40 years. Our group
recently incorporated for the purpose of applying for a low power radio
license to serve our local community broadcasting local events, youth
ball games, and other educational content. We also want to provide for
local announcements in the event of an emergency.

Hopefully they are using a Part 73 LPFM approved transmitter and not one of those Amazon jobbies. There are very few Part 73 approved transmitters and of those, only a few are approved for LPFM.

$10 on them using Amazon CCBT.

Interesting expansion on their roles, though. I have a local-ish 1000 watt AM station that I often listen to that runs the little league games on Saturdays live from the field. I could see them seeing a need for a local broadcast to offset the clear channel/I♥media conglomerates.

In the construction permit the applicant is listed as the director of the Rosehill ARC, his wife as an officer & his son as an additional director.

This smells like an end run around the prohibition of individuals holding LPFM licenses.

Besides, what's an 'amateur HAM radio broadcaster'?
