For the past couple of days, LACoFD has been dispatching some calls on Air to Ground 154.4
I know this the backup VHF SCU tone system, but my question is whether or not anyone has been recording/logging the calls so that we can extract the two-tone decoding from the recordings. I usually use the iPhone app RADIO ID which I just put next to the scanner speaker and it decodes the tones for my logs.
I did not see a Broadcastify feed for Air To Ground, so I can't go back in the archives and listen... just wondering if anyone had the audio files or was already doing the same thing I was hoping to do.

Back in the "good old days", 154.400 was one of the three primary dispatch channels for LACoFD, the other two being 154.340 and 154.430. They dispatched with the same two-tone alerts that you all remember from watching "Emergency!" on TV. More recently, of course, this has been used as their Air-to-Ground channel. So, now you're saying that they are dispatching on this, as well?

Yes, occasionally as the backup channel.

Little late to this threat... But that was apart of our yearly CAD down training for all our shifts.. Yes each station has its own backup SCU on LAC A/G that we can generate tones to alert.. Tested every morning at 0700 also, but using Group Calls vs. Individual stations.
