I recently spent four days in the Laclede and Dallas county area. I scanned the area including all the neighboring counties. Other than Mercy EMS VHF dispatching (Which was loud and clear) all the VHF signals sounded extremely weak. So much that the VHF signals sounded like a children's walkie talkie. Barely audible and filled with static. Laclede county fire and Lebanon fire dispatches were the same. Can anyone else from the area confirm the weak signals on VHF? I have monitored the area off and on for decades and this was the worst I have heard.
I have also noticed a large group of counties and cities moving to MOSWIN, DMR and NXDN which I am assuming has left very little VHF to hear. I have over 60 confirmed digital signals from area counties and cities. Also, has the entire county of Laclede switched to MOSWIN or just the county sheriff and Lebanon PD?
I am wondering how the local and volunteer first responders are handling such terrible signals. Thanks.
