Does anyone monitor or have insight on the LA Metro security frequencies? I'm seeing several frequencies broadcasting same info, some frequencies tied together, multi-selecting/only hearing one side of conversation, etc. Just wondered if anyone had more info on how the system is set up so I can monitor more efficiently. Thanks in advance.

The channels are region-specific, and officers in the field manually select the channel. There is no automated subscriber voting. As I understand it, the SOC (Security Operations Center) transmits on all the channels at once, but you will only hear the units talking back to SOC if you are on the same channel as they are.

Thanks! I'll see what I can do about figuring out which channel is which for each region.

@LB_Scan thanks, I’m pretty aware of that considering I was responsible for submitting about 90% of that info to the database. My question was concerning the separate UHF conventional frequencies for security, which ElevatorsandRadios was helpful in responding to.

Don't know how current or accurate the info is, but according to web search, MTA divides its operations into five or six regional zones.

One listing I found has six:
Central / Union Station
San Fernando Valley
San Gabriel Valley
South Bay
Westside
Gateway Cities

Other had 5:
Gateway Cities (Southeastern LA County)
San Fernando Valley
San Gabriel Valley
South Bay
Westside/Central

Suppose the frequency usage could be along these lines.
