By County policy, ALL paramedic providers are required to have the UHF medical channels in their radios including VMED28 for MAC. There is no longer a dedicated EMS tactical channel in the LAFD 800 MHz channel plan. Most paramedics like someone else mentioned use their cell phones because the UHF med channels are line of site only.

The LAFD has all band radios with all of the public safety radios frequencies for the LA Basin. They can communicate with nearly everyone.
