Larsen NMO 150/450/800 mobile is about half the price and in my opinon is a very good antenna. I have one mobile and one with base kit added.

Expensive antenna. The base is really big, and from the reports, it takes a lot of work to get it tuned to TX right. As an antenna, it doesn't work any better than separate antennas. I wouldn't waste money on it. Go with the Larsen.

I would have to agree about the Larsen. I've had one on my car for a few months now and very pleased with it.

Like everyone has said, the Larsen tri-band antenna would be a good choice. I have one and its short and sturdy and receives well.

So I found this post while researching antennas. My quandry is im picking up a dual band radio for 2M/70cm as well as the fire frequencies I use (153-160 range) and I don't have a lot of real estate on the top of my vehicle. I need some guidance on a good compromise antenna will be.
