If you did a simple search here, or at the least went to the California forum before posting (LA is in California) you'd see a lengthy thread already about LAPD live.

you will have to download Teamspeak from www.teamspeak.org and then connect to radio.scannerbuff.net it has a live lapd audio feed that monitors the hotshots channel (code 3 / code 2 high calls only).

the server address for scannerbuff.net's live LAPD feed on teamspeak is 66.209.70.155:8767.

LAPD has elimated thir code 2 high calls, so the hot shots channel is just code 3 calls.

Also, this live audio feed will broadcast breaking news events, like pursuits, etc from many department within LA County.

"I did do a search and didn't find a thing."

Hit "search" then type "lapd" and it's there...

Do you need teamspeak just to listen? If so, then how long does the download last and how big is it?

Teamspeak only has the hotshot... there is a feed listed in the California forums that has ALL LAPD's chans LIVE nightly 8 PM to 12 AM LA time.

milf, if it is the shoutcast feed you are talking about. I am unable to connect to it. The Teamspeak server also has LASD, San Francisco FD, NorCal, and NorCal fire watch. Right now i'm listening to live audio on LASD, a deputy was just shot. The server is usually very active.

CSL126 is correct, Scanner Buff's Team Speak server is NOT just for LAPD Hot Shots, it also broadcasts breaking news events, along with a 24 Hour Feed of CHP Southern Divisoin, and a few others.

Actually, broadcasting breaking news is what Bob originaly set the Scanner Buff Teamspeak server up for, to go along with his notification system. When there was no breaking news he would broadcast LAPD hot shots. Since than the server has grown.

Umm as I stated, the only LAPD is the HOTSHOT chan. And that is what the dude asked about. Maybe one day we will get lucky and someone with a PRO-96 or one of the Unidens will go to LA and set up a continuous feed. but s for now its iehter just the few hours, or just the hot shot.

maybe the reason that there isn't as much traffic on the hotshot channel is because they no longer have code 2 high calls. That's just a guess, maybe RJohanson024 can answer that one for me. It's usually a lot more active at night, the audio quality is a lot better at night too.

correct, LAPD has elimated Code 2 High calls, which has cut down the traffic on the Hot Shots channel to Code 3 calls now.

As in Code 3, you mean Priority 1 (Emergancy Traffic) right? Here in Houston, HPD has it backwards and uses Code 1 for Priority 1 (Emergancy Traffic). The county has it right though, they use Prority 1 for Emergancy Traffic (Lights and Sirens) and Priority 4 for go get a donut and a cup of coffee before you get to the location of the call.

correct...for LAPD:
code 2 is non-emergent/routine call, w/ no lights/sirens
code 2 high (no longer used for saftey reasons) was emergent non lights & sirens.
code 3 is emergent respond w/ lights and sirens
code 4 is suspect in coustody
