Does anyone have idea as to the numerical designations to the Lawrence PD frequencies are? I have recently been hearing a reference to channel 15 or channel 16 but can not find any reference to either on the BAPERN or NEMLEC channels. Any info would be appreciated.

It is probably an unlicensed simplex frequency that SNU (Street Narcotics Units) uses. They have multi-band radios so it could be anything. If it is the patrol officers requesting the channel it is probably direct. The officers all have Motorola HT-1000 portables which are UHF mode for the department. Check 484.925 and 156.2100 the UHF was a supposed new channel when everyone was afraid of narrow-banding, and the VHF is the old MTD Channel.

484.925 is the new Methuen Fire Department UHF frequency. The 156.21 frequency was the input frequency of the Lawrence Auxiliary PD used in conjunction with an output frequency of155.37. These 2 VHF frequencies are no longer used as the LPD Auxies have a different pair of VHF high channels. The LPD have been observed on 482.6375 and 482.6875 on occasion. I have been monitoring the LPD since moving here 14 years ago.

LPD Auxie frequencies

The output frequency of 159.3525 is used in conjunction with an input frequency of 153.89. I am not sure of their tones. The frequencies are in when major traffic accidents, fires, or road races occur. The Auxies are used for traffic and/or crowd control freeing up our short staffed PD up here in Lawrence. These frequencies became active sometime last fall.
