ARC XT PRO Questions

I have used ARC XT Pro to program my 996P2 as well as my BCT 15x and it works well for me. I recently had to update some frequencies on my 15X, Ventura County Fire, and while I can hear traffic on the channels, I am not hearing the station tones on the dispatch channel, just the voice once the units are being dispatched. Is there a way to change that so I can hear the tones? Also I have an updated comm plan for Ventura County Fire, which was updated in May, but on RR it still shows the old channel lineup. How can I add a channel? I have tried and when the I enter in the 156.0300, but when I hit enter it comes up as .1560300. Any help on this would be appreciated.

You must be trying to enter it as a talkgroup ID in a trunked system. 156.0300 must be added as a conventional frequency in a conventional system. If you try to enter it as a talkgroup ID in a trunked system, 156.0300 becomes 1560300. Talkgroup ID's do not have a decimal point.

Thanks for your reply. I used the RR data base, under conventional, added entire list of frequencies in the que to import, at the top it says add channel,I clicked on it. On the list one column says audio type is analog, I don't see anywhere where it says talk groups.

156.030 shows in the database. Did it import OK this time?

If you are not heating tones on dispatch and the voice is there, the tones are not on that channel or talkgroup. If you have the Ventura County trunked system on your BCD996P2, you may not have tones on the dispatch talkgroup. The tones may only be on the analog conventional dispatch frequency. I am just a little too far away to check it myself. If you have any questions about the programming, please attach your ARC XT .RSF programming file in question so we can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

Yeah, I was able to input 156.030. on my 15X so that is good. Now the issue with the tones is also with the 15X, there are no talk groups, and yes it is an analog conventional system. I loaded all the frequencies in using ARC XT Pro, is there a column to change to make it to where I can hear the tones. I work as a volunteer photographer with the VCD, and in the past I could hear the tones, especially when several units are dispatched on a brush fire, I have time to stop and write down the call info. With out hearing the tones, I don't have the time.

If you hear only voice on the dispatch frequency, the tones are no longer there. I suggest that you start a thread in the California forum asking about the alert tones for Ventura County. The stations may be using a different method of alerting.

Thanks for your input. I have figured out a fix. I went ahead and deleted the dispatch frequency out of the group, then manually put it back in by adding a new channel and I can now hear the dispatch tones.
