LBFD is narrow

April 1 was the narrow band day for Long Beach, Ca Fire.

All channels are now narrow with DPL exception FD6. FD6 is going to remain PL.

If your scanner is set for PL decode you will not hear anything.

As a Long Beach radio shop employee this is all I can say.

Received submission that Fire-1 DPL is 132, and Fire-2 is 155DPL. Rest unknown.

I assume they're not in the database for Long Beach since they're wide-area frequencies, but I believe HEAR (155.34) and Fire White 1 (154.28) will be remaining wideband for a while. CAL-EMA has set 12/31/12 for 154.28's change to narrowband and renaming VFIRE21, and L.A. County Health Services has scheduled the 155.34 narrowbanding for 9/15/12, and renaming VMED-28.

Your list is correct. FD7 is 151.235 126DPL. We have had this freq for a long time but never used it.

You sure the DPL is 126?

Per DCS tables 125 would be valid, but not 126. Next allowed sequence after 125 would be 131.

Sorry, Its really 226 on my list but I typed 126.

I have report that other Long Beach frequencies also have changes.

For instance one of the local government freqs 453.550 in reported as DPL074 versus previous 131.8 CTCSS.

Maybe someone within reception range of LB take a listen at all the stuff in the Db and see if they note any other changes as well.

LG3 is the first channel we narrow banded. We are shifting to DPL so that older wideband units can not use the system. Next channel has not been decided. Either Airport or LG2.

Speaking about LGB Airport, besides the public safety units on 453.500, what do the airport operations and maintenance folks utilize?

Airport Safety uses the airport frequency. Airport maint uses LG3 shared with Animal Control.

The police airport detail scans between PD1, PD2, and airport.

All of the lists show discrete PD assignments. This is only true in daytime.

At night PD1 is used. About 7AM they switch to 2 channel dispatch using PD1 & PD2. About 11AM they switch to the 4 channel dispatch the guides show.

The airport police detail uses PD2 East when in 4 ch mode.
