I had a BCD436HP, but let it go. I always hated the washed out display. Display characters not very bold. No matter how you set the contrast, the display was hard to read. I know this was a common issue with the 436. The current online photos of the display look very good. Was this improved in later production, or is it still not very bold? I am considering getting another one, but the display and audio were not up to par. The audio of the BCD325P2 is much better.

The early production models (from the initial intro units until maybe about mid-summer of 2016) did have some display issues. The early models would have been covered by the service campaign, where the RTC issue, as well as fading displays, were addressed. My "late 2016" 436HP, as well as my initial 436HP (repaired during the campaign) have not had display issues, at least as they appear to me. No problem reading either one..
