Interesting, this morning my Calls nodes caught TG 3526 on the LCRA Luckenbach, and the traffic matched TG 3526 on GATRRS that was captured on the Austin Simulcast. Unit IDs and all. That is DPS Capital Police. I'm assuming that at a minimum some DPS talkgroups are common and linked over both systems?

Thank you for your continued diligence. Some of the I/O channels are on both, particularly the Gulf Coast I/O. I've heard such on both systems.

Correct, this is just the first time I’ve seen the exact same decimal number used on two separate systems with separate vendors (Moto vs Harris). It seems like they lined them up that way, perhaps for ease of programming since the state radio shop has to do both systems in region 6.

Since the July 4th flood, I have heard some rumblings about making I/O between the two systems a lot more seamless. I know from the TDEM comm guys that the Kerr County radios only had the normal GATRRS regional I/O groups in their radios and none of the LCRA I/O groups at the time of the flood(since Kerr had only recently switched to GATRRS and some fire departments were still testing some radios before the flood hit). They changed all that when they all got on the ground in the area during the search and rescue/recovery phases. But I would expect to see a lot more cross-system talkgroups popping up, especially at the state level. DPS, TDEM, etc...

The much, much smaller statewide system in MA standardized TGs across all of the trunk systems using the state Astro Core several years ago. The Core is the only thing shared by the users, but they can affiliate with any affiliated system if they are out of range of their home system.

As I said, it's a much smaller system at this point, but someone surprisingly thought ahead. ;)
