I have not been to Lentenis for some time. I was sad to find out that their brick and mortar store closed a while back and that now they are online only.

I guess it is a sign of the times that every store for all types of products except wal mart and dollar general seem to be closing. I cannot help but feel like we've really lost an icon. =/

Yea. I am with you. I had only been to the brick and mortar once or twice, he had was I was needing both times. I was in the need of some supplies and went to his place as it’s only 15 mins from me and saw that it was closed. Did an internet search and saw that he was online only. ☹️

I bought my first scanner - and crystals , from Lentini's when Michael Lentini operated out of a 3 family house in New Britain in the early 70's.

Alex took over the business later in Michael's life and they opened a store in my hometown of Newington.

I bought my Uniden BC2500 XLT there - and they modified it for Cellular and "Turboscan".

As the business moved to on-line, they opened their small shop in Berlin.

I remember the Newington location.

Sad to see it's only online now, though. It was so much fun going there and looking at all of the knickknacks and I usually bought a few things like a new Comet BNC W100RX antenna or some SMA to BNC connectors. Anything to support the business. Obviously it was not enough to keep it going, but I tried to do my part whenever I could ...

I never knew they were even there.... had I known they were CT local or there at all I would have stopped in. I get most of my stuff from HRO, which is big in HAM circles, but if I could actually pick up at a store that would have been great...

It was great to go. I use ScannerMaster for 99% of my online transactions. I bought two Comet BNC W100RX antennas which ended up being through Lentinis amazon presence.

I will be more vigilant in the future and order directly from the manufacturers instead of amazon..

I bought my SDS100 and SDS200 from ScannerMaster.

It is too bad, I found out about a month or so after my last visit they closed the store up in Berlin. I bought most of my rigs through them going back to the Newington store. Alex and Bill were a pleasure to deal with or just to rag chew in the shop.

Yep, I remember planning to stop in for something like an antenna and spending 3 hours talking afterwards.
